The Heart of the Matter

My ❤ results came back this week and things look a-okay (not the doc’s exact words, but that’s basically what I heard)!! I’ve got one more test next week, but the cardiologist isn’t expecting to find anything, so it looks like my dizziness and blackout episodes are solely a result of having extremely low blood pressure! He has mentioned medications to help my body regulate itself better, but as long as I can kind of manage it on my own (coffee seems to help- crazy, I know, but I’m going with it!), I don’t plan on taking anything.

So that’s what I know as of today, and unless something crazy comes out in the echo next week, I am SO looking forward to putting this nagging fear behind me! Thank you for checking in on me and praying with me these last few weeks- love y’all!

Hugs and Love,

A

Hey Alex! You are an amazing lady doing amazing things! I hope you always remember that you were and are beautiful, valued, accepted, admired, strong, and full of worth either way your outside looks- thinner or fuller. But I can tell you want this badly, you want to look and feel healthier, and I am DANG sure you have worked your butt off to achieve it!!

I just wanted to tell you I have had dizziness and fainting this year as well- REALLY bad. Mine is (best they can tell) low blood pressure too, and I believe also a bit of anxiety and hormone fluctuations as well. Anyway, the ONLY thing that has helped is for me to go against common wisdom and NOT eat low sodium. In fact, I go out of my way to eat sodium whenever I feel that way amd a bit in general- it really helps. It was true with chemo too- I fainted a lot- and sodium really helped get all my numbers get back in the normal range.

I am guessing with all the exercise and your healthy diet, you may need more than conventional wisdom says too.

Hope it helps. Congrats again on all of your hard work!!!
